A Shameless Plug

Anyone familiar with "The Michael Medved Show" (which is conservative talk radio for people with brains in their heads) knows that every so often he promotes the work he has done for other venues over the radio.  These promos are jovially called, "Shameless Plugs."

Well, I shall shamelessly borrow his phraseology and announce:  Now it is time for a shameless plug.

I have a review of two books on Shakespeare in the October 2006 issue of Liberty Magazine.  You can find it in the finer bookstores and truly classy newsstands across the country.

Here's a link, not to the reveiw, but to see the magazine cover:  Liberty Magazine

That was a shameless plug.  Stay tuned for more shameless plugs, right here on The Singing Sparrow.

Way to go, Justine! Your stuff is so good it demands a larger audience. I'll pick up that issue when I get the chance. Maybe I'll send it to you and make you sign it -hmmmm. Just a thought.

      Thanks Flicka!

It's pretty exciting for me, considering I've subscribed to Liberty for more than ten years.  If you cannot find it, let me know and I'll send you a copy (shameless!  shameless!).  Congrats, by the way, on being so close to finishing up Rainmaker's Wrestling!  Is that still the title?  If I were still the events manager at B&N, I'd so be bugging you for an author signing in WA!

When are you visiting your mom in CA?  I'm in the mood to non-rev south on the best airline in the U.S. (or second-best, considering I'm mighty partial to Horizon Air).

      Blessings,
      Justine

Yes, Rainmaker's Wrestling is still the title - will have it finished in a matter of weeks. You may not like it - I don't know. I like it. I'm not sure anyone else will get it. But thanks for the encouragement.

About the mag. I would *seriously* LOVE to have a copy of the first article you ever have in print with you autograph on it - quite historic I'm convinced. I will send you a check for the price of the mag plus cost of shipping if you send me an autographed copy. Would you consider?

I really wanted to make it to CA this fall - now I don't know. But the next time I'm out West - we'll make plans. Promise?

Woman!  What a pleasure  and honor just to send you a copy of the mag and my plodding book review -- I'd never BILL you for it!  Sheesh!

When I can finally find some copies on the newsstands (I suppose I could go order some back issues, but how much more thrilling to 'pick up a copy' from B&N or Borders!), I will let you know and get your address.  I'll autograph it, too, but I'll laugh while I do it.

I liked the first few chapters  of Rainmaker's Wrestling that you posted a ways back.  I'm sure I'll like your book.  You are no John Irving (schmuck!).  I've been praying for its speedy publishing.

I'm holding you to your CA promises, lady.  Next year in (if not Jerusalem, then) Cally!

      Peace!

Ha! See, if I actually read this other blog of yours (I MUST update my links - I don't get to anyone if they aren't in my links) I'd have known about your article instead of reading about it at Flicka's. I'm looking forward to reading it.
Hey Justine, have you read By A Lady by Amanda Elyot? Th subtitle caught my eye: "Being the Adventures of an Enlightened American in Jane Austen's England". Hope it's good!
